The Fashion Portrait

Throughout the history of fashion photography, the portrait holds a special place having inspired creators such as Man Ray, Richard Avedon, Mario Testino, Steven Meisel and others, and can be applied in advertising campaigns, fashion and beauty editorials, but also social media. In the workshop, Ioanna Chatziandreou will guide students to develop a personal approach to fashion portrait photography and to define their own aesthetics while exploring the relationship between fashion and portraiture.
On the first day through a demo photo shoot, the presenter will teach lighting techniques that she uses and will give advice on the concept, communication with the model and posing. The participants will then photograph themselves with Ioanna encouraging them to experiment by trying practices, while throughout the photography their images will be evaluated.
The course ends the next day with the evaluation of the photos in aesthetic and technical issues as well as the discussion on the problems that arose during the shooting.
