Eleni Mouzakiti
Eleni Mouzakiti is a Photographer, Curator of photography exhibitions and publications and an Editor. She holds an MA in Image and Communication – Photography from Goldsmiths College, University of London and a PhD in Photography as a Fine Art Practice from the University of Derby. She has been a fellow of the DAAD, the Greek State Scholarship Foundation and the Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. She has collaborated as a free-lance photographer with various magazines, theatre and dance-theatre companies. She has exhibited her projects in various venues and festivals (solo and group shows) in Greece and abroad.
Works of her owned by the Portland Art Museum, Oregon, U.S.A., the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Greece, the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, the (American College of Greece) ACG Art Collection and many private collections. Her portfolios have been published in various magazines, newspapers, group exhibition and solo exhibition catalogues (monographs: Visitors, in limbo, and Backstage Photographs). She was a finalist at the Ian Parry Award – Sunday Times and the London Photographic Awards. She has curated numerous photography exhibitions in various venues (including the European Month of Photography in Athens, the Sterna festival, The State of Concept Gallery, TAF The Art Foundation).
She is a workshops instructor for Contemporary Photography Practice and Theory and has been an Adjunct Professor for Photography Technique, History and Theory of Photography in the Dept. of Visual Arts and Art Sciences at the University of Ioannina (2002-2006). Since 2012 she has been collaborating as a Photography Instructor with various Continuous Education Programs in Photography including The Hellenic Centre for Photography and the Athens School of Fine Arts. She is currently teaching at the Master Of Arts Degree Photography and Visual Language at the– AKTO College – Middlesex University the module: Visual Experimentations and Photographic Practice. She is also organizing and teaching many workshops in Greece and abroad on Creative Photography and Contemporary Photography Practice and Theory.
In 2018 she co founded the platform The Provinces and the INDEXICAL Visual Arts – Photography Hub.
