Teacher: Nikos Pilos
To create a complete photojournalistic story there is whole process from finding the
idea to the conceptualization and visualization of it. There are many different ways of
approach regarding each project, although the fundamentals are the same for any kind of work. In this seminar, award-winning Greek photojournalist Nikos Pilos, will teach all the “rules” one should follow to create a complete story under any circumstances, step by step:
·How do we find an interesting idea
·Research design
·Development and ways of visualization
·Pre-production, costs, schedules, deadlines
·Photography, how do you work in the field
·Editing, preparation of presentation of the story
·Promotion, adaptation for platform or for exhibition
Important part of the seminar will be also the interaction between the teacher and the
participants. In the first days everybody will have the opportunity to show their
portfolio and conversate with everybody, exchange ideas and points of view, share
experiences and suggest new or established ways of storytelling. After understanding the theoretical aspects and methodology, students will be asked to create their own stories. With the guidance of Nikos Pilos and by the end of the workshop they will have a new complete story, ready to add to their portfolio.
